Residential rehab treatment through JSIS
If you work for European Union institutions and have medical insurance through JSIS (Joint Sickness Insurance Scheme of the European Union), you are covered for all or part of your alcohol or drug problem treatment at a residential rehab clinic.
Several top private alcohol and drug addiction clinics are preferred providers to JSIS insurance scheme.
Treatment programmes for alcohol or drug addiction are usually covered by major private healthcare providers in the UK and internationally, such as Aetna, BUPA, AXA PPP, Aviva, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and Tricare.
Admission through JSIS can be arranged very quickly, usually within 48 hours of when the admissions team have gathered all relevant patient information.
Steps for admission to private rehab with Joint Sickness Insurance Scheme of the European Union (JSIS):
- Call the admissions team of your chosen residential rehab centre who will answer any questions about the admissions process and the treatment programme;
- Contact your assigned JSIS settlement office to arrange to obtain proof of cover;
- Ask your GP for a referral to your chosen private alcohol and drug addiction clinic and send them your JSIS medical insurance number;
- The rehab clinic’s admission team will liaise with JSIS and make all necessary arrangements for admission.
